Power transformer explodes in McNeil’s, Las Piedras

Puerto Rico, Las Piedras: A power transformer exploded in McNeil pharmaceutical company yesterday. Six people have been injured.
A subcontractor company staff was performing maintenance on the electrical system on the premises, which used to be an old factory, when the power transformer exploded.
Six people have been injured in the explosion and one of the injured workers suffered 80 % body burns.
The losses caused by the explosion have not been estimated yet. The incident was attended by the firefighters and the Explosives Division of the Police department has started an investigation of the incident.
