High-Voltage Transformers Plant by Power Machines and Toshiba put into pilot operation

Russia, St. Petersburg: Power Machines -Toshiba High-Voltage Transformers, the joint venture plant has been put into pilot operation. The plant is located in Kolpinsky District, St. Petersburg, Russia.

Russia, St. Petersburg: Power Machines-Toshiba High-Voltage Transformers, the joint venture plant has been put into pilot operation. The plant is located in Kolpinsky District, St. Petersburg.

The plant boasts the most advanced technology equipment with the estimated investment value of RUB 5.5 billion ($ 155.8 million). The advance technology will be used to manufacture power transformers and autotransformers within the 110 – 750 kV range. Three-phase transformers exceeding 25 MVA will also be manufactured as well as 500 – 750 kV shunt reactors.

The joint venture plant has a fully automated testing centre to allow full-scale conventional and final acceptance tests for 750 kV voltage class transformers and beyond. The products will be supplied to FGC UES OJSC, Russian Grids, RusGidro, Rosatom (the Russian Federation National Nuclear Corporation), and CIS and Baltic power grid companies.

50.01 % stake in the joint venture belongs to Power Machines, while 49.99% is held by Toshiba.
