Grassland fire spreads to power transformer at Paso de la Patria
Argentina, Paso de la Patria: One of the power transformers at the diesel generating plant was affected by the fire which was caused by the burning grasslands on the edge of the National Route 9.

Argentina, Paso de la Patria: One of the power transformers at the diesel generating plant was affected by the fire which was caused by the burning grasslands on the edge of the National Route 9.
The fire also reached power poles, causing outages in the rural area by the National Route 9.
The affected transformer from the plant is operated by Enarsa. Since the fire, power interruptions have not ceased in the area.
Head of Direccion Provincial de Energia de Corrientes (DPEC), Walter Parisi said: “It is unfortunate that burning grassland has such negative impact on the service.” He added that “the problem was resolved quickly but some problems could have been avoided,” and that “we need to raise awareness and responsibility in these kind of situations.”
