India: The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) have awarded the ENGIE Group a INR 1460 crore ($175 million) loan for a 400 MW solar photovoltaic power plant in Surendranagar, Gujarat. This program fits with India’s plan to build at least 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy output by 2030.

Over its estimated 25-year service life, the project will produce an average of 805 GWh of electricity yearly, meaning that roughly 662441 tonnes of CO2 less are released into the air. ENGIE and the ADB already collaborated in the Indian market in 2020.
