Transformers stolen in Tanahun

Nepal, Damauli: Nine transformers have been stolen from Tanahun district. Khimlal Aryal, engineer at NEA Tanahun branch said that total value of the stolen transformers is Rs 3 million ($ 30,000).

Nepal, Damauli: Nine transformers have been stolen from Tanahun district. Khimlal Aryal, engineer at NEA Tanahun branch said that total value of the stolen transformers is Rs 3 million ($ 30,000).

Four of the stolen transformers belong to Nepal Electricity Authority, two to Nepal Telecom, and one to Damauli Drinking Water Project, Bandipur Mountain Resort and NCell each.

The theft of the transformers disrupted water supply and telephone service for a long time in Byash area. The police have yet to arrest the thieves but they suspect the mafia is involved in the theft of the transformers.
