Russia, Leningrad Oblast (Region): Lenenergo, part of Rossetti, completed the modernisation of 110/10 kV Belogorka substation in Gatchinsky District.

Reconstruction of the substation will significantly increase the reliability of electricity supply to the consumers in Gatchinsky District and provide reserve capacity to connect new consumers.

Lenenergo invested 40 million rubles (approx. $ 1 million) in the project to modernise the substation which enabled replacement of the power transformers, increasing the total capacity of the substation from 20 to 32 MVA.

Between 2012 and 2013, the company’s experts have replaced 58 sets of power equipment at 35 substations of 35-110 kV. The programme includes a plan to install 215 transformers by 2019 – about 1/3 of the total in-service fleet. The programme will significantly reduce the risks of technological failures caused by network congestion.
