Iraq, Basra: Five power transformers have been transported from South Korea to Iraq by Seven Seas Shipping using specialised cargo. The transport took 3 months to complete.

The transformers have been shipped by two divisions from Seven Seas Shipping, based in Jordan and Iraq. They were loaded onto Hyundai Antwerp at Masan Port in South Korea and shipped to Um Qasr Port in Iraq. From Um Qasr Port, the transformers were loaded onto specialised transport to complete a 175 km-long journey to the Shat Basra gas power plant in Basra.

Each transformer weighed 233 tonnes but the total weight of the transport was 1,898.69 tonnes, according to the spokesperson. Five low loaders and 75 trailers were used to transport the transformers and the accessories. At the plant, the transformers were positioned onto steel stands using hydraulic jacks.
