France, Vendée: ERDF replaced the power transformer in Louis-Auguste-Lansier area in La Roche, writes Ouest France.
“We replaced the transformer. It went from 250 kVA to 630 kVA”, explains Christophe Boury, the ERDF Vendée Regional Director. “We will be able to provide electricity to nearly 300 homes.”
“This is a power increase due to the construction of a new building and neighborhood development.” says Christophe Boury.
Not far away from the site, twelve social residential buildings will be built.
“This change of transformer caused no disruption to the consumers of the district”, said one of the technicians. “A generator had been connected, so the work was carried out without causing blackouts.”
This reinforcement of the grid in La Roche reflects the development of the department and its management. “For the past eight years, we have been facing an increase of more than 40 % in electricity demand throughout the Vendée.” says Christophe Boury.
