Substation for World Cup facilities to be commissioned in the third quarter of 2014 in Nizhny Novgorod

Russia, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast (Region): Valery Ulyanov, The Minister of Housing and Energy in Nizhny Novgorod Region, announced at the press conference that the transformer station will be commissioned in Nizhny Novgorod in the third quarter of 2014.

Russia, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast (Region): Valery Ulyanov, The Minister of Housing and Energy in Nizhny Novgorod Region, announced at the press conference that the transformer station will be commissioned in Nizhny Novgorod in the third quarter of 2014.

According to the Minister, power substation Strelka will provide electricity to the sports facilities that will be built for the FIFA World Cup in 2018.

“Substation is designed to provide the necessary amount of energy to sports facilities.” said the Minister. At this point there are two 40 MVA power transformers in the substation building.

It was previously reported that the power consumption has decreased in January 2014 by 8.3 % in the Nizhny Novgorod Region compared to the same period last year.
