Fuji Electric takes majority share of Tusco Trafo

USA, New Jersey: Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. completed an investment and took majority share of Tusco Trafo group, headquartered in Samutprakarn, Thailand. The new company will be called Fuji Tusco Co., Ltd.

USA, New Jersey: Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. completed an investment and took majority share of Tusco Trafo group, headquartered in Samutprakarn, Thailand. The new company will be called Fuji Tusco Co., Ltd.

The power equipment manufacturer based in Edison plans to expand and strengthen their position in the growing global transformer manufacturing. Through Tusco’s manufacturing capabilities, Fuji Electric’s North American customers will gain access to competitively priced power transformers up to 300 MVA, 245kV.

Fuji Tusco’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility will combine Fuji Electric’s advanced power transformer technology with Tusco’s efficient manufacturing processes. The new transformers will be licensed under the Fuji Electric.

“Given Fuji Electric’s 100-year reputation for manufacturing excellence, it was imperative that we seek out a company with the same focus on quality and reliability. Tusco is recognised as one of the most influential transformer manufacturers in South East Asia, and bringing transformers to North America will be a valuable option for our Industrial and Utility power transformer customers.” said Phil Charatz, Fuji Electric’s President and CEO. 

Products will include power transformers, rectifier transformers and furnace transformers up to 300 MVA, 245kV. Fuji Electric also produces large power transformers up to 1000 MVA, 745kV in Chiba Works factory in Japan.
