Siemens Energy to manufacture main power transformer for Shannon wind project

USA, Texas: Siemens Energy is in the process of completing the contract to manufacture the Shannon project’s main power transformer.
The Shannon wind project has been 100 % acquired by Alterra Power Corp. The project involves the construction of a 202 MW wind farm which is now in late-stage of development in Clay County, Texas.
Alterra completed certain construction activities in December 2013 to qualify the Shannon project for the federal production tax credit. The activities included contracting with Siemens regarding the manufacturing of the main power transformer and Mortenson Construction to complete the initial phase of on-site construction.
Alterra is now preparing for closure of the project financing projected for the second quarter 2014.
