Bogota Power Company invests in new substation in Cali

Colombia, Cali: Bogota Power Company (EEB) invested $ 21,000 in a modern substation to meet current and future demand in the area.

Colombia, Cali: Bogota Power Company (EEB) invested $ 21,000 in a modern substation to meet current and future demand in the area.

Yesterday EEB  put into operation a modern electrical substation Alferez, located in El Hormiguero, Cali.

The substation was assembled with one of the latest technologies consisting of voltage transformers, control panels, circuit breakers, output wiring, etc. The new technology will help reducing the levels of pollution.

Minister of Mining and Energy, Amylkar Acosta, personally supervised the commissioning of the substation.”This project will strengthen the Regional Transmission System, improve power supply reliability and reduce operating costs.” said the President of the EEB.

Minister Acosta stressed that the opening of the substation is in keeping with the plan to expand power generation and high voltage networks. He added that the substation will be able to distribute power to the entire south of the country, even countries like Peru and Ecuador through Andean Grid, Sinea.
