Brazil: ABB inaugurated its fifth factory in Brazil as part of $ 200-million investment to expand ABB’s technology development and production capacity in order to serve increasing domestic power demand.

The new facility is located in Sorocaba, São Paulo where ABB will assemble compact power substations – e-houses, for the first time in one location and manufacture low voltage products amongst other products.

“ABB is extremely proud of this new state-of-the-art facility, which demonstrates once again our long-term commitment to Brazil,” ABB CEO Ulrich Spiesshofer said. “As one of the world’s leading economies, Brazil is a key market for ABB. We are very pleased to continue to support Brazil’s economic growth through infrastructure and industrialization projects.”

ABB can now act as a single vendor to engineer, design, assemble, package, test and deliver equipment, and manage the compact substation assembly.
