India: First bank of 3 x 500 MVA, 765 kV transformers manufactured at Moraiya plant of T&R (India) Ltd for POWERGRID have been commissioned at Nellore substation in southern part of India.
T&R (India) Ltd, one of the largest transformer manufacturers is supplying 33 Nos. of 500 MVA, 1-Phase, 765 kV class transformers to state-owned, transmission utility company in India, POWERGRID, in cooperation with Ukrainian Transformer manufacturer ZTR. T&R (India) Ltd. is supplying 20 Nos. 500 MVA, 1 Phase, 765 kV transformers from Ahmedabad India and balance transformers are being supplied by ZTR. The first 3 units forming a bank of 1500 MVA, 765 kV transformers manufactured by T&R have been commissioned successfully at Nellore substation of POWERGRID located at Andhra Pradesh India.
“T&R is geared up with all the required facilities to manufacture 765 kV transformers and is ready to cope up the huge demand of 765 kV transformers and 765 kV shunt reactors in 12th and 13th, 5 year plans.” said Mr. J.U Mamtora Chairman of T&R (India) Ltd.
