Belgium, Charleroi: Two power transformer explosions occured at the Monceau-sur-Sambre international electrical connection point Sunday.

Firefighters from Charleroi were struggling for more than six hours following the two explosions in an attempt to extinguish the fire. The first power transformer explosion was one of the largest in Belgium, causing a huge fire and explosion blowing the wall. Firefighters used water and foam to extinguish the fire but around 6:45 a.m., a new blast occurred.

Three firefighters were injured but are currently continuing their work. The grid did not suffer disruptions following the explosions of the power transformer.
