Bosung Powertec donates transformers to Yolanda-affected electric coops

Philippines, Manila: Korea's Bosung Powertec Co Ltd has donated electrical equipment to electric cooperatives devastated by Super Typhoon Yolanda.

Philippines, Manila: Korea’s Bosung Powertec Co Ltd has donated electrical equipment to electric cooperatives devastated by Super Typhoon Yolanda.

Edita S. Bueno, National Electrification Administration (NEA) chief said in a statement that Bosung Powertec, through local subsidiary Bosung Powertec Philippines Inc, made donation of  PHP 1.657 million ($ 37,000) worth of distribution transformers to Leyte II Electric Cooperative Inc (Leyeco II), Eastern Samar Electric Cooperative Inc (Esamelco) and Aklan Electric Cooperative Inc (Akelco).

The donation includes eight units of 13.2 kV/120-240, 50 kVA and 10 units of 13.2 kV/120-240, 25 kVA distribution transformers. Leyeco II received four units of 50 kVA and two units of 25 kVA. Esamelco and Akelco were donated two units each of 50 kVA and four units each of 25 kVA.

“As we slowly recover from the devastation wrought by Typhoon Yolanda in the Visayas, all forms of assistance be it equipment or service, are greatly appreciated. We thank Bosung Powertec Philippines for the transformers. Indeed, your donation will come a long way in the rehabilitation efforts in Leyte, Aklan and Eastern Samar.” Bueno stated.   

Busong Powertec and Kepco donated various equipment to electric cooperatives in the Philippines from 2009 to 2011.
