United Kingdom, Kent: A transformer at the entrance of the Channel Tunnel got struck by lightning Thursday night, sparking a fire and knocking out power to Eurostar.

Several trains have suffered delays or had to head back. Traffic was back to normal by the next day, reports France Info.

It was reported to the passengers from Paris and Bruxelles on arrival to London Friday morning that the origin of the delays had been the power transformer fire at the entrance to the tunnel on the British side of the Channel caused by lightning.

No injuries were reported  and no trains were stuck in the tunnel, but all the passengers were unable to reach their destination. A train from London was forced to return to its starting destination.
