FGC UES to increase the investment programme by 10% in 2014 to improve reliability

Russia, Moscow: Federal Grid Company (FGC UES) will invest RUB 3.87 billion (approx. $ 109 million) in the programme to improve reliability of power facilities in 2014, which is approximately 10 % higher than last year.

Russia, Moscow: Federal Grid Company (FGC UES) will invest RUB 3.87 billion (approx. $ 109 million) in the programme to improve reliability of power facilities in 2014, which is approximately 10 % higher than last year.

A total of 900 work events of replacing the electrical equipment and its components will be realised in order to improve the reliability of equipment and interconnection, and optimise costs.

As part of the investment programme, power transformers, 110-750 kV current transformers and 110-750 kV voltage transformers will be replaced. In addition, oil circuit breakers and disconnectors will be replaced. During the implementation of the programme, the amount of oil-filled equipment in substations will decrease, which will benefit to the ecological environment.

“The reliability of a single national grid remains our absolute priority.” said the Chairman of the FGC Board, Andrey Murov.
