Delhi’s power minister Satyendra Jain inaugurated a 220 KV substation at Pappankalan and a 220 KV substation at Tughalkabad developed by Delhi Transco Limited (DTL).

The officials said that the Tughalkabad substation has been linked to the 400 KV ring around Delhi at its Bamnauli – Ballabhgarh section as well as to the existing 220 KV substations at Badarpur, Masjid Moth, Okhla and Mehrauli.

The substation at Pappankalan has been linked to 400 KV substation at Bamnauli and 400 KV substations Maharani Bagh through 220 KV substation at Naraina to further smoothen the intrastate transmission of power.

The present transmission capacity of the substation is 320 MVA. Substations will be linked to a 400 KV ring that is bringing 2000 MVA power coming from the outside of Delhi to South and West Delhi.
