Russia, Stavropol: Federal Grid Company (FGC UES) will allocate RUB 595 million ($ 16.7 million) for the reconstruction of the 500 kV substation Budennovsk providing electricity from Rostov NPP to the North Caucasus.

Completion of works is scheduled for September 2014, reports RusCable. The foundations for the new substation equipment have been set. By July, new modern current and voltage transformers will be installed.

“Within four months, the substation power equipment will be replaced with 500 kV outdoor switchgear and transformer. This will improve the reliability of one of the most important substations of the North Caucasus Federal District, which depends on the electricity transmission in the eastern part of the MES South interconnection.”  said the director of the Stavropol enterprise MES South, Sergei Boldyshev.
