USA, California: Pacific Gas & Electric (PG & E) offered a $ 250,000 reward for information that could help to determine who attacked the transformer station in Silicon Valley a year ago.

According to The New York Times, PG & E has no apparent progress in determining who attacked the station. It planned $ 100 million in security investments in the next three years. The attack did not shut off power but did substantial damage when shooters caused extensive damage to 17 power transformers using semiautomatic weapons on the 16th April 2013.

A potentially disastrous blackout was avoided in the area which is home to some of the biggest technology companies. Government and industry officials testified at a Senate committee hearing on Thursday that they were making progress on improving both physical and cybersecurity on the grid.
