SEWA to replace electrical transmission lines with ground power cables

SEWA has announced that it will replace all electrical overhead transmission lines and wires of low pressure 420 KVA with ground power cables, at a cost of over $8 M.

 


UAE: The Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority (SEWA) has announced that it will replace all electrical overhead transmission lines and wires of low pressure 420 KVA with ground power cables, at a cost of over $8 M.

The utilities provider has also stopped 1000 electrical columns for high pressure lines 33 KVA, in line with SEWA’s strategy to enhance the efficiency of power grids.

Speaking about the recent developments, Rashid Al Leem, Chairman of SEWA, said that the development of the energy and water projects in the Central Region comes in line with the directives of Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

Meanwhile, Khalifa Mohammed Al Tunaiji, Director of Central Region Department, talked about SEWA’s comprehensive plan to replace the aerial cables in the Central Region with ground cables, contributing to the stability of networks and ensuring to provide the best services in all areas.
