Since the beginning in 2010, there has been an influx of investment in the electricity sector, reports Tazabek. Many transformer stations have been modernised and upgraded, receiving new replacement power transformers and other electrical equipment.
After gaining sovereignty, Kyrgyzstan was forced to invest $ 370 million in the construction of high-voltage substations and networks from 1991 to 2010.
