Brazil: French renewable power producer Voltalia SA expects its newly finished 2 GW transmission line in Brazil to be hooked to the grid shortly.

Voltalia started developing the 52 km long line in 2016 and initiated construction work in early 2019. The company teamed up with Seta Engenharia SA for the line and WEG for the substation.

The completion of the line enables Voltalia to commence operations of its VSM 1&2 wind farms, totalling 291 MW, ahead of planned. The two facilities are currently under construction and are expected to be fully finalised in mid-2020.
