US: Indiana Michigan Power plans a near-$12 M project to upgrade the electric transmission grid serving customers in eastern Muncie.

The Eastern Muncie Area Improvements Project will upgrade about 6 km of transmission line from 34.5 kV to 69 kV standards. The project involves rebuilding some sections of the power line in the company’s existing right-of-way. Other sections of the project may include re-routes and require new easements.

I&M officials expect construction to begin in early 2021 and conclude in summer 2021.
