Philippines: Manila Electric Co. (Meralco) energized its digital substation that shall supply electricity to Bridgetowne, the township development of Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) that connects the cities of Pasig and Quezon.

The power distributor’s integrated and fully automated gas-insulated switchgear substation, with an initial capacity of 83 MVA, is situated on 1,293 m² land provided by RLC via a collaborative real estate arrangement.

The activation of the Bridgetowne substation is part of Meralco’s roadmap to ensure adequate and reliable power supply for the growing needs of the locators within the 31 hectare project, which houses condominiums, office buildings, shopping centers, a five-star hotel, as well as parks, a school, a hospital and public art installation.

The Bridgetowne substation is Meralco’s third digital substation. The first two digital substations are Valencia substation in San Juan City and another within the Pagcor Entertainment City in Parañaque City.
