Russia, Moscow: MOESK (Moscow United Electric Grid Company) completed the next stage of the 110 kV Zubovskaya substation as part of the investment programme.

The company has recently commissioned a new modern 80 MVA power transformer (T-2). T-2 was mounted in a closed chamber, replacing less powerful 63 MVA transformer. The reconstruction also included shell type reactor, manufactured on the separate project.

The company is currently working on dismantling the second 63 MVA power transformer in order to replace it with another new 80 MVA transformer. Completion is scheduled for mid-summer 2014. The combined capacity of the Zubovskaya substation after reconstruction will increase from 126 MVA to 160 MVA, reports RosInvest.

Located in the centre of Moscow, the 110 kV substation “Zubovskaya” was first commissioned in 1997. The reconstruction was launched in 2010 and the total project cost, calculated up to 2015 will exceed RUB 430 million ($ 12.5 million).
