Eskom investigating substation fire in Mpumalanga

South Africa, Mpumalanga: Following the fire incident at one of its substations in Secunda, Eskom is investigating the cause according to the company’s statement.
Some residents of Secunda were left without electricity supply as a result, reports The Citizen. “Two of the three transformers at the substation were affected by the fire…” Eskom statement read.
According to the statement, the one remaining transformer has been operating as normal and is currently supplying power to about half of the town. Eskom’s technicians were working around the clock until Wednesday to restore power in the affected areas.
