Belgium, Waterloo: Ergon Europe MEA, manufacturer of naphthenic specialty insulating oils is due to display its current product line.

According to Véronique Rousseau, Office & Sales Manager, the exhibition acts as a forum for exploring the position of Europe with relation to emerging markets. With the increasing electrification of regions such Asia, Latin America and Africa, the industry is faced with several growing possibilities for development.

“With some countries in these regions only partially electrified, there is huge growth potential for the electrical industries. What is more, in places such as Saudi Arabia, where cities are quite literally growing out of the desert, the development of an electricity grid is essential.” she says.

The major factors responsible for the growth of the transformer oil market are increasing power grids in developing regions, rising investments and the enlargement of electricity grids in developed regions, as well as the increasing adoption of renewable energy resources such as solar and wind. The global transformer oil market consumption is estimated to grow from 1.35 billion liters in 2012 to 1.73 billion liters by 2017 with focus on Asia Pacific where the consumption is expected to grow by an average of 6% till 2018.
