UES FGC to upgrade Chiryurt and Makhachkala substations in Dagestan

Russia, Dagestan: Federal Grid Company will invest RUB 575 600 000 ($ 16.8 million) for the reconstruction of two 330 kV substations in the Republic of Dagestan - Chiryurt and Makhachkala.

Russia, Dagestan: Federal Grid Company will invest RUB 575 600 000 ($ 16.8 million) for the reconstruction of two 330 kV substations in the Republic of Dagestan – Chiryurt and Makhachkala.

By the end of 2014, the company will replace power equipment, which will increase the reliability of power supply to the northern and central parts of the region, reports RB.

Two sets of 330 kV voltage transformers have already been installed at the Chiryurt station. The Makhachkala substation will soon be equipped with two sets of current transformers.

Substation Chiryurt  was commissioned in 1973. It is one of the key substations to provide electricity to northern part of the Republic of Dagestan, Stavropol Region and the Chechen Republic.

Substation Makhachkala was commissioned in 1974 and provides power for Cascade of Sulakskiye HPP.
