Switzerland, Zurich: ABB has proposed the construction of underground transformer substations in Bangladesh to minimise the use of land for power generation.
ABB presented a transformer substation below the surface at a Dhaka hotel on Wednesday after showed a rising demand for power in Bangladesh has forced the government to look for alternatives, reports BD News 24.
ABB’s Bangladesh country manager and managing director, Rajarshi Banerjee, said Bangladesh could utilise this technology given its land constraints. “We produce technology keeping in mind the various needs of various regions of the world.” he said adding that such an underground substation had been installed in New Delhi.
