Advanced HVDC technology secured for SunZia Transmission

USA, Arizona: The SunZia Transmission project that links New Mexico’s wind farms to Arizona’s grid will be equipped with advanced HVDC technology.

Pattern Energy has selected Hitachi Energy to supply high-voltage direct current HVDC) and other advanced technologies for the SunZia Transmission project. The transmission line will connect the 3,500 MW SunZia Wind project in New Mexico to the power grid in Arizona and Southern California, which will make it among the largest transmission links delivering renewable energy.
