Article on standard IEC 60296 (Ed. 5) now available in French

We are happy to announce to our readers that article IEC 60296 (Ed. 5) – a standard for classification of mineral insulating oil on performance and not on the origin issued in the January edition of the Transformers Magazine, has been translated into French.
The revision of the standard IEC 60296, Ed. 4.0 resulting in IEC 60296, Ed. 5.0 had three main aims: to set up a standard based on the performance of mineral insulating oil and not on the origin, to distinguish between good and bad mineral insulating oils, and to protect the user providing adequate testing parameters. In addition, there are few exciting news and changes in the new version of the standard compared to the previous versions.
In July 2020, IEC has issued the 5th edition of the standard IEC 60296:2020 entitled ‘Fluids for electrotechnical application – Mineral insulating oils for electrical equipment’
The new IEC 60296 (Ed. 5, 2020) standard is based on performance and not on the origin, it is valid for unused and recycled insulating mineral oils and is the answer to higher industry, environmental, and sustainability requirements. This article brings the news in the Ed. 5 of the standard.

L’article sur la norme CEI 60296 (Ed. 5) est maintenant disponible en français
Nous sommes heureux d’annoncer à nos lecteurs que l’article IEC 60296 (Ed. 5) – a standard for classification of mineral insulating oil on performance and not on the origin, paru en dans l’édition de janvier de Transformers Magazine, a été traduit en français.
La révision de la norme CEI 60296, Ed. 4.0 en CEI 60296, Ed. 5.0 avait 3 objectifs principaux : instaurer une norme basée sur la performance de l’huile minérale isolante et non sur l’origine, de faire une distinction entre les bonnes et les mauvaises huiles minérales isolantes, et de protéger l’utilisateur en amenant des paramètres d’essais appropriés. De plus, il y a quelques nouveautés et changements intéressants dans la nouvelle version de la norme en comparaison avec les versions précédentes.
En juillet 2020, la CEI a publié la 5e édition de la norme CEI 60296:2020 nommée ‘Fluides pour applications électrotechniques – Huiles minérales isolantes pour matériel électrique’
La nouvelle norme CEI 60296 (Ed. 5, 2020) est basée sur la performance et non sur l’origine, elle est valable pour les huiles minérales isolantes neuves et recyclées et est la réponse aux exigences élevées de l’industrie, de l’environnement et du développement durable. Cet article donne les nouvelles de l’édition 5 de la norme.
