USA, Tennessee, Bristol: On 25 June, BTES officially broke ground on a new delivery point substation in Bristol along Highway 394.

The substation is located near the Bristol Business Park and Partnership Park II.

“Our employees determined that additional power supply facilities will be necessary in the very near future to maintain the availability, reliability, and resiliency of electric power for the customers in our service area,” Mike Browder, CEO of BTES said in a news release.

This will be the third delivery point substation, joining one located in Bluff City and the other in Blountville.

“For economic development activities to continue and take root, it is necessary to have a power delivery system in place that can quickly meet the need for development,” says Browder.

According to BTES, the Tennessee Valley Authority will build more than 22 km of new transmission power lines in the Bristol area.

BTES provides electric service to Bristol, Tennessee and parts of Sullivan County. The company serves a 450 km2 m service area – more than 34,000 customers.
