Transformer Oil Course at the Transformers Academy is a three-level course fully authored and hosted by CS Narasimhan – an expert with the Ph.D. in Chemistry and over 30 years of experience in Industrial R&D.

Two of the available lessons in the course are open for registration for the live broadcasting. These are the e-lesson #3 – Basic Concepts and Key differences, and e-lesson #4 – Mineral Oils in Service.

ABOUT THE THIRD E-LESSON

The lesson will present two international standards – IEC 60296, 5th edition, 2020 and IEEE C57.106, 2015. Basic concepts and key differences between the two standards are also discussed as well. Join the session and get to know how these standards address the performance concerns of end-users.

ABOUT THE FOURTH E-LESSON

This is the fourth e-lesson in the entire Transformer Oil Course, and also the first one conducted on Intermediate level.

The lesson discusses aspects of unused mineral oil after its receipt by the end-user, such as storage, sampling, testing before and after filling into an equipment and the limits to parameters. The lesson also deals with the process and precautions for filling oil into a transformer.

Join us and learn how the oil should be stored and handled, about testing different oils for compatibility in case a new oil of a different vendor is used for topping up in an equipment and, finally, about the limits for oil parameters after filling and before energizing a transformer.

Keywords: storage, handling, filling, oil compatibility
