Bondoukou, Côte d’Ivoire: The government of Côte d’Ivoire signs a concession agreement and 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) for 50MW PV solar plant

The 50MW project will annually generate more than 85GWh of clean energy, enough power for around 350, 000 people. At a total investment of around $60 million, the project is being completely developed by AMEA Power under a Build-Own-Operate and Transfer model (BOOT) model.

The first solar Independent Power Project (IPP) in Côte d’Ivoire will be placed at the city of Bondoukou in the north-easter region of Gontougo, located 420km northeast of Abidjan.

Compagnie Ivoirienne d’Electricité, responsbile for the electrical network throughout the country will be the offtaker of the project.

The signing ceremony was held during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week in the presence of Tiemoko Meyliet Koné, Vice President of Côte d’Ivoire.
