ABOUT THE SESSION

In this e-lesson you will learn the fundamental concepts related to the induction phenomenon with a simple analytical approximation of the inductance of two close cylindrical wires and calculation of the mutual inductance between the two wires.

Then basic types of transformers will be illustrated. Finally, principle of operation, equations of transformer MMF and EMF, voltage ratio and the equivalent transformer circuit will be presented.

Each paragraph will be submitted both in general and with reference to distribution line frequency transformer.
