If you have missed the lesson #5 in the Transformer oil course by Mr. C.S. Narasimhan, don’t worry because the session is now available on demand and it will be until the further notice.

The lesson discusses the significance of condition monitoring especially for EHV and UHV power transformers. It deals with critical parameters that require monitoring and their significance. The limits for critical parameter set by IEC standard IEC60422-2013 are discussed along with consequences if the limits are allowed to cross. Author talks about the recommended actions when critical oil parameters cross the set limits.

IEC 60422 standard is compared with IEEE 57.106-2015 standard and the key differences between the two are discussed.

The lesson’s content is fully vendor-agnostic, but it is sponsored by SPECO.
