Romania: Danish renewable energy company Eurowind Energy has secured the construction permit for its 66 MW wind farm located in eastern Romania’s village of Frumusita, Galati county. The project, which will comprise eleven turbines, will become operational by the end of 2025 and will supply green energy to roughly 62000 households. The company hasn’t disclosed the value of the project.

“By the end of 2025, the building permits granted to Eurowind Energy projects in Romania will cover 450 MW, thus supporting the mitigation of environmental problems globally and the development of local communities,” Eurowind Energy Romania country manager Adrian Dobre said.

In April, the company secured a €65.3 million ($70.2 million) credit facility from Banca Comerciala Romana (BCR), the Romanian unit of Austria’s Erste Group, for the construction of a 48 MW wind farm in the country’s southeastern commune of Pecineaga, Constanta county.
