Bulgaria, Plovdiv: EVN Bulgaria, part of Austrian energy group EVN, said that it is investing $6.4 M (11.6 M levs / 5.9 M euro) in the construction of a new electricity substation in Plovdiv.
The Evmolpiya substation featuring a 40 / 50 MVA power transformer would meet growing electricity demand from new builds in the central and eastern parts of the city, EVN Bulgaria said in a statement on 11 May.
The installed capacity could be increased to 100 MVA at a later stage.
Works on the substation are halfway through, with basic construction works already completed, the company noted.
