Indonesia, Bogor: CG Power Systems Indonesia (now family of Elsewedy Electric) emphasise their efforts to preserve the environment.

The company has shared a post on the social media pointing out its efforts to make the power supply greener.

Since 2008 the company has been designing and manufacturing transformers with biodegradable synthetic ester oil. Biodegradable synthetic ester oil is environmentally friendly liquid designed to provide an alternative to mineral oil, silicone liquid and dry-type transformers.

Most of the transformers were used for special locations such as:

  • Cardrona Sky Resort, near Queenstown, New Zealand
  • a heritage art deco substation building built in 1930s, Dunedin, New Zealand
  • for mobile substations

The biggest compact-size mobile transformer the company has ever made was 90 MVA 132/33-22/11 kV for Tenaga Nasional Berhad in Malaysia and it was also filled with this bio-degradable oil and equipped with full Nomex insulation. Though quite challenging, the unit has passed the FAT with a very low partial discharge.
