USA, Alabama/South Korea, Ulsan: HD Hyundai Electric Co., an energy solution provider under South Korean shipbuilder HD Hyundai, has completed a 12690 m2 storage facility for transformers at its production plant in Alabama. This means the facility can now hold up to 60 completed transformers.

“By transferring the completed transformers directly to the storage facility, production efficiency has increased, and the need for transport to external storage has been eliminated, resulting in cost savings,” the company commented.

The company is also expanding its domestic transformer operations, as it plans to finish upgrading its Ulsan transformer plant this month and to complete a new transformer core factory in the same complex by October. It is expected by the company that the combined projects could generate an additional 220 billion won ($159 million) in annual revenue.
