China, Shanghai: Last week, at the Hitachi Energy Transformers Factory in Shanghai, the company marked a technology milestone for the introduction of a 66 kV class air-forced water-cooling transformers for nacelle offshore wind applications. The dry-type transformer was designed to meet the needs of the Chinese market and to deliver the safest solution to the customers. The transformer will be used for 8.5 MW wind turbine application and to boost the power generated by the wind turbine to 69 kV, enabling longer power transmission distances and higher efficiency, supporting decarbonized power generation.
