Uzbekistan: UAE’s Masdar has connected two solar projects with a capacity of 511 MW to Uzbekistan’s power grid. The Samarkand and Jizzakh solar power plants are expected to produce 1.12 TWh of renewable power per year once fully commissioned, thus meeting the needs of 240000 homes.

It was China’s Trina Solar Co Ltd that made the reveal. The company was contracted to provide solar trackers for the projects, which were developed and built by Masdar and contracted by a subsidiary of Dongfang Electric Corporation.
