New auto cutoff power transformers in Madhya Pradesh

India, Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal: To prevent unauthorised usage of electricity, Central distribution company is going to install auto cutoff distribution transformers.

On detection of usage of electricity beyond the prescribed load , the transformers will automatically get cut off and the power supply will be severed, as announced by India’s Central Region Electricity Distribution Company.

Auto cut-off distribution transformers of prescribed capacity will be installed by the company on the basis of the number of consumers recorded in its records in the concerned area and their valid sanctioned load, so that unauthorized use of electricity will not be possible in the concerned area.

The company has informed that an auto cutoff distribution transformer of 100 kVA has been installed in Chola zone of Bhopal. In addition, auto cutoff distribution transformers have been installed in the moong growing areas in Narmadapuram.

The company has informed that a distribution centre in Sehore circle where the transformer failure rate was high, auto cutoff distribution transformers are being installed in all the areas. Distribution transformers are being replaced by implementing it as a pilot project in rural areas. After reviewing the results of auto cutoff distribution transformers in these areas, it will be implemented in other rural areas covered by the company. The company claims that the installation of auto cutoff distribution transformers will ensure uninterrupted and quality power supply to the legitimate consumers, besides preventing unauthorized use of electricity, while increasing the revenue of the company at the same time.
