Police arrest two for stealing 40 l of transformer oil

India, Madhya Pradesh, Parwalia: On 22 August, Parwalia police arrested two men for stealing 40 litres of transformer oil worth $134 (Rs10,000 ).

According to the police, acting on a tip-off regarding two men involved in stealing oil from transformers, the men were tracked and taken in.

The two miscreants were identified as Ajay Mewada and Nirbhay Singh alias Ravi Malviya, and later in the investigation, Malviya confessed to committing the crime. The tools used to steal the oil were later recovered by the police.

The complaint was lodged by lineman Nannulal Verma who provided information to the police that two men are involved in stealing oil from transformers. Based on the investigation, the two accused were searched and oil was recovered from Mewada’s possession. During the investigation, the police found that the accused are habitual drinkers who burgle and spend on liquor.

The number of burglaries committed by the gang is yet to be investigated. The accomplices who have helped the miscreants in disposing the stolen oil would be investigated. Police said that Ravi has been booked for several serious crimes in the past. The goods the two have stolen in the past and the areas which have been targeted by the accused would be inspected in the further investigation.
