USA, Washington, Okanogan: Okanogan county in Washington has approved purchase of six new power transformers.

As part of their ongoing plans to upgrade infrastructure, Okanogan County Public Utility District PUD commissioners approved a $2.4 M bid for six 20 MVA, 115 kV substation power transformers at their meeting on 11 January. The district has been planning for various capital projects throughout their system, working to keep up with aging equipment. Some of that critical equipment includes these power transformers, originally estimated to cost the district about $3 M.

The PUD opened the nine bids received in December 2020, and selected Virginia Transformer, according to systems technician Kyle Richter. The transformers will be received in instalments with some arriving this summer and others in spring 2022.
