Canada, Surrey: Powertech Labs have announced the promotion of Dr. Mazana Armstrong to Principal Engineer position in Grid Modernization Sector.
Dr. Armstrong has 25 years of professional experience in the area of power systems. She currently leads the Powertech’s High Power Lab, offering a unique grid-connected testing, R&D and consulting services to the utilities industry. The High Power Lab specialises in evaluation, verification and certification testing of medium and high voltage equipment to support manufacturers, power utilities and other industrial users of electrical equipment. Dr. Armstrong’s experience also includes operation, maintenance, design and testing of high voltage electric power systems with BC Hydro, specifically electrical aspects of 69 kV to 500 kV transmission systems.
Dr. Armstrong holds an M.Sc. and a Ph.D. in electrical engineering from the University of British Columbia. She is also a registered professional engineer with the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia. She has been actively involved in leadership roles with IEEE Power and Energy Society and she is an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer.
