Romania: Greek utility Public Power Corporation (PPC) Group’s green energy unit, PPC Renewables, will develop a 140 MW wind farm in Romania’s eastern commune of Deleni, Vaslui county. The project has reached the construction phase and is designed with 23 turbines with an installed capacity of 6.1 MW each. It is expected to be connected to the grid by the end of 2025. PPC Group did not disclose the value of the investment.

The wind farm could generate 370 GWh of green energy annually, enough to supply approximately 62000 households. It will reduce CO2 emissions by 215000 tonnes annually.

The completion of the project will bring PPC Renewables’ portfolio in the country to about 850 MW of installed renewable energy sources (RES) capacity. The company’s broader objective is to increase the total installed RES capacity in the country to more than 2 GW by the end of 2026.
