The seventh e-lesson in the Design of distribution transformers course is conducted on the Intermediate level. The author is Mr. Mario Salano and the session will be broadcasted live on Thursday, 24 March 2022, at 2 PM CET. Save your seat and attend. If you miss the session, you can always catch up by attending it on demand.

The aim of the seventh lesson is to demonstrate the connection between losses and temperature in a transformer. It will cover the answers to the questions such as what are the real requirements, which links are there between costs, life and the environment, and how we can address the temperature issues by showing some real-life examples.

Mr. Salano’s expertise in the field of power transformers comes from a well established engineering skills acquired in “Salano transformers”, renowned Italian company that manufactured line-frequency power transformers for Italian power utilities. His current interests include high-efficiency distribution transformers, the impact of nonlinear loads on power transformers, novel materials for transformer cores and also high-frequency power transformers for the use in conjunction with power electronics topologies.
